About Us

The Robotics Explorer Club was funded by a group of engineers who are enthusiastic to inspire children of different ages to discover the fun of engineering, technology, math and computer science through robotic building and programing activities. 

 

The club is devoted to forecasting and providing professional and creatively  learning experience in order to give all students, coaches every opportunity explore the comprehensive STEM knowledge and skills in solving problems collaboratively, and to help them achieve maximum potential as participate in the learning and competition.

 

Our Teacher

    Rice Rao 

  •  Head coach of  Robotics Competitions including FLL (First LEGO League) Tournament and WRO (World Robotics Olympiad). He lead the team in winning the 2nd place of World Robotics Olympiad Canadian Championship. He is also a volunteer judge of FLL.

  • Over 20 years  of IT industry experience as software engineer working internationally.

  • MSc in Eletrical & Computer Engineering from University of Alberta.

  • BSc in Mathematics from Peking University.

  • He is passionate of inspiring young generation in exploring science, technology and mathematics by building and programming robotics in a fun and organized team environment.

  • Bachelor of Applied Science, Queen’s University

  • Winner of the First Robotics District Event Engineering Inspiration 2019

  •  Winner of the FRC North Bay Districts Event 2019

  •  Ranked top 5 in Avogadro’s contest in Scarborough

MSc. Michael Lombardo

  • Over 9 years experience in Python

  • Over 3 years and teaching experience in Computer Science

  • Masters Computer Science student at Ontario Tech University.

  • Passion for teaching students of all ages, with a great skill of teaching to the audience. He encourages discussion during lessons, and questions to ensure students understand the content fully.

  • Teaches lessons by splitting the class into simply white board examples, then a coding example. Using this style of teaching computer science has been found to increase understanding for beginners.
